answers:

I bought the same Pakistani coin ( having hole at its center ) with 10 other coins. It cost me only Rs.500

Since it is only 60 years old its price should be between Rs.100 to Rs.150

I have one coin of year 1818 and I bought that for Rs.500

It's nearly impossible to evaluate this without information regarding the material it is made out of, any maker marks or signatures, and some idea as to the style. My suggestion is you take it to several (more than one) local antique shops for an "insurance" appraisal. These are appraisals that you can use to provide insurance on the item, and will give you an idea of what it is worth.

Daniel asks…

antique chairs what to do?

I am looking for a definitive source for repairing 3 chairs, to the best of my knowledge they were made between 1875-1880 and have a purposely split wooden seat that is carved to accommodate the buttocks:) tag says Phoenix chair co. sheboygan wisconsin.Table is quarter sawed with lions foot pedestals looks to be ruined with refinishing, at least it is shellac!.Chairs have a very worn finish and I do not intend to refinish, just want to disassemble re glue and shim, or should I not do anything? the value of the chairs is the deciding factor as to daily use of them.

George asks…

i have a cedar chest that seems to be original disney? Any idea how i can tell if its really an antique?

I was given this chest, and when I saw it, there is a pic of winnie the pooh & friends playing leap frog with Christopher Robin. It has the Disney Copywright on the bottom rt corner. Its color looks really old and the charactures themselves look nothing like they do today. Winnie doesn't even have his shirt on and tigger looks like a cat in the face not like Tigger does today if that makes any sense. I have pics of it if anyone would like to see to better determine any value if al all. I just wanted to know before I put it in my kids room. T hanks

answers:

It may be collectable; there is probably a serial number on it you can check. If it has a DIsney theme, it's not old enough to be "Antique"

Paul asks…

Worth It? .?

I had a bible from 1948 and I sold it to my local antique store for £20.

I saw this on Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-li...

I rushed back and asked my antiques dealer how much a leather-bound bible in good condition from 1648 would be and he said would be worth at least £2000. I didn't tell him where I saw this deal. I went to his rival, and he offered me £1000.

I asked elsewhere and they offered £500. Do you think this is a good deal or will I not be offered this much when I go to the store. Plus, do you think this will rise in value if I hand it down in further generations?
edit- link: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000XT049U/ref=olp_product_details?ie=UTF8&me=&seller=
Just got a reply from the seller and (s)he said that it is in good condition, there is tanning, and writing at the back and some residue is visible from cellotape.

answers:

I would hold on to it for future unless you need the money now
